Kings raises over £5k for Children’s Charity

Leading Manchester-based barristers set Kings Chambers raised £5400 to support it’s long term charity partner the Child Brain Injury Trust.

More than 70 leading lights from across Manchester’s business and professional service community got into the swing of things to raise the money at the Chambers’ annual golf day fundraiser, held at Worsley Park.

The charity works to support families across the country who have children suffering from brain injuries resulting from accident or illness.

It’s the 8th consecutive year the golf day, which was sponsored by BCN Group, Office Team and RMS has been held.

Speaking about the day, Steve Loxton, Chief Clerk at Kings Chambers, said: “Our annual golf day is always a fantastic event and it’s great that with the support of our clients we’ve been able to raise money for such a life-changing charity.

“The Child Brain Injury Trust helps some of the most vulnerable children in our society and we’re hugely proud to support the brilliant work it does to help children and families who find themselves in some of the most difficult circumstance imaginable.

“We were lucky enough to have the weather on our side – the sun cream was definitely needed out on the course! We were really pleased to see so many familiar faces from across Manchester’s business community turning out to enjoy the golf and help raise a great amount of money.

“I’d like to say thank you to all our sponsors who helped make the event possible and to all our would-be golfers who came to support the event – it really was a brilliant occasion.”

Stephen Loxton, Johnathan Bluett, Fiona Loxton and Martin Hood of Kings Chambers took first place in the team event, making it round with a score of 95.

Daniel Lewis of Bruntwood Estates claimed the individual prize awarded on the day for his round of 48, while Jack Brandreth of Tilney Financial Planning recorded the longest drive. James Nield of Arbutnot Latham also recorded nearest to the pin on the day.
