£15m tech indoor mini golf concept unveiled at Westfield London

Puttshack, the super-tech indoor mini golf experience, has been unveiled to the public in Westfield London.

The £15m food, drink and technology concept has been co-created by the people behind ping pong venue, Bounce and Topgolf.

Puttshack is part of Westfield London’s £600m expansion to become Europe’s largest shopping centre.

The new concept comprises four courses of nine holes; each one inspired by computer, arcade and fairground games.

Every course includes an interactive prize wheel, on which you can win anything from a pizza or a round of drinks to a cash prize.

The courses include; a huge pinball table themed hole – where the ball activates lights and sounds in order to rack up high scores, a giant beer pong game and a catch-a-duck fairground hole.

Puttshack has patented the ball tracking and scoring technology, Trackaball, which will unlock a new level of gameplay – from prize holes to Super Tubes (which if you score, offers an automatic hole-in-one).

The venue boasts an island bar and restaurant with a menu that has been curated by chef Richard Edney and includes a selection of sourdough pizzas, ‘guilty pleasures’, as well as vegan and veggie choices.

In addition, the island bar offers over 100 rums from around the world.

Adam Breeden, founder and CEO of Bounce, said: “It has been our ambition to create the best mini golf experience in the world and we believe Puttshack delivers just that. Our world first Trackaball™ technology has enabled us to take mini golf and transform it into something completely revolutionary.

“In addition to this awesome tech, we have fused a best in class food and beverage offer with stunning design to create the most immersive social entertainment experience yet.”

Myf Ryan, CMO Europe and global director of brand and strategic marketing, Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Europe, added: “We are thrilled to welcome Puttshack to the Westfield London expansion and proud to host another world-first at Europe’s largest shopping centre.

“Our customers want to enjoy leisure and dining options when they are at our centre, as well as our extensive retail offer, and we’re sure this innovative new mini golf experience will be very popular.”

Within 12 months of opening two further Puttshack sites will be revealed in London, another flagship 21,000 sq ft venue at 1Poultry as well as a site confirmed as part of the £73m extension at intu Lakeside.
