Come and discover that ‘one of a kind find’ at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool’s most stylish and eclectic event – Fine Tuned
Fine Tuned, the free festival celebrating independent designer-makers, classic styles and vintage finds, returns to take over Royal Albert Dock Liverpool on July 14-15.
Fresh from the remarkable success of the National Festival of Making, HemingwayDesign and Deco Publique come together again to present a kaleidoscope of bespoke and vintage fashions, tailor-made wares, and classic cars. With the freshest street food, slickest DJs and surrealist street performers, this free weekend of fun for old and young will be one to savour.
Clare Rawlinson, marketing manager, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, said:
“Fine Tuned welcomes some of the best independent artists and artisans to Royal Albert Dock Liverpool this summer for a weekend of clothes, jewellery and crafts, music, food and entertainment. If you are someone with a keen eye on contemporary style or a passion for timeless classics, or you’re just looking for that unique, handmade craft you won’t find anywhere else, then Fine Tuned is the event for you. It’s the perfect way to “upcycle” your weekend!”
Wayne Hemingway MBE said:
“This will be the fourth consecutive year that we’ve hosted an event at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool and each year we fall more and more in love with the place and the people of Liverpool! The beautiful details of the Grade listed architecture perfectly complements the quirkiness and colour of the event, and I believe there really is no better place to throw a free party on a summer’s weekend!
“Thank you to Royal Albert Dock Liverpool for hosting us yet again, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our celebration of all things fine-tuned.”
There’ll be plenty to enjoy for fashion lovers at Fine Tuned, including hair and beauty makeovers and, of course, all the wonderful vintage shopping that is on offer. Whatever era inspires you most, visitors and collectors will be able to explore and enjoy clothing and accessories from established couture labels to street styles from the roaring ’20s through to the raving ’90s.
Vintage treasures: Curated by Dotty’s Vintage, our vintage market unites 25+ traders from the length of the country to show off their incredible collections of timeless and classic clothes, homewares, jewellery, watches and curios.
Stand out from the crowd: Budding style icons and fashionistas should dress to impress, with the Fine Tuned fashion spotters on the hunt for the Dock’s foremost examples of glitz and glamour. The cream of the crop will be given a chance to duel it out on the legendary pop-up Best in Show catwalk!
Up-and-comers: Shoppers will also be able to grab unique pieces from the very best independent designer-makers in the fields of contemporary art, lifestyle products, independent clothing design, beauty products, homewares and more.
Automobile extravagance: The classic car display on Hartley Quay (in front of Merseyside Maritime Museum) will be a sight to behold - stunning motors from yesteryear that your parents and grandparents will be very familiar with!
Spectacular performance: We’re guaranteed to light up the streets with performance and entertainment of the highest order. Imagine a cocktail of performers as bamboozling as last year’s irrepressible Jean and Morag, stilt-walkers, breakdancers, and the Sol Cinema. Undiscovered quays and corners of the Dock come alive with the very best street theatre, dance and vintage-loving DJs.
And while you’re at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool, why not make a full day of it with a spot of culture at Tate Liverpool who will be showing the new summer exhibition - Life in Motion: Egon Schiele/ Francesca Woodman; explore Liverpool in the swinging ‘60s with a visit to the world-famous Beatles Story; pop into the Dock’s flagship Leather Satchel Co shop - creators of beautiful handcrafted leather satchels since 1966; and then take a rest from all this excitement with quality food, drink and a world-class view at one of the Dock’s popular restaurants and bars. We’ve got your visit all sewn up!
