Cricket sponsorship ensures youngsters are not left stumped
A youth cricket team has been bowled over by sponsorship from a popular Yorkshire hotel.
Richmondshire under-11s are sporting the logo of the Wensleydale Heifer on their shirts this season as they compete in the North Yorkshire Area Cricket Council North Division.
The sponsorship is paying dividends because the team currently lie second in the table, having won eight of their ten matches, with one game remaining.
They are hoping to finish the season strongly before they begin their quest to win the under-11s Gamera Cup.
Owner of The Wensleydale Heifer, Lewis Moss, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring the Richmondshire under-11s for the 2018 season and it’s great to see them doing so well in their league.
“As a business based in Richmondshire, it’s pleasing to be able to support an organisation which provides fantastic sporting opportunities to young people from the District.”
Mike White, Manager of the Richmondshire under-11s, said: “We would like to thank The Wensleydale Heifer for their kind sponsorship of the team.
“As a Club, we have a thriving junior section for children aged three to 17 and it is through the generosity of local businesses like The Wensleydale Heifer which supports us to maintain this.”
