NETA’s safety and management systems get the official stamp of approval

NETA Training Group has been given the international seal of approval for both its health and safety and quality management systems.

The training centre is proud to announce it has been certified to meet the Occupational Health and Safety (OHSAS) 18001:2007 and recertified to ISO 9001:2015 standards.

Described by NETA’s commercial quality and compliance manager Carol Richardson as “a prestigious accolade” the OHSAS 18001:2007 sets out the requirements for occupational health and safety management best practice.

She said: “Achieving this standard ensures that NETA has a rigorous health and safety policy in place and that high levels of health and safety practice are undertaken throughout our daily business operations.”

Delivering vocational training for the engineering, process, manufacturing and construction sectors, working with commercial customers, apprentices and students, health and safety is the number one priority for NETA. In fact it can pride itself on leading by example as the centre also specialises in the provision of health and safety training.

The standard ensures policies, procedures and controls are in place to achieve the best possible working conditions and workplace health and safety.

ISO 9001:2015 is the international standard that specifies requirements for a quality management system. It demonstrates the company’s ability to provide products and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements.

Carol said: “The auditor’s report is very complimentary and she noted, in particular, the clear evidence of progress against targets, communication and accountability.”

She added: “To receive both of these standards is quite something. Working with many learners and commercial customers every day, who are regularly using industry standard tools and equipment, our health and safety practice alongside the quality of what we deliver is so important.

“Having these standards lets our customers know that we are fully committed to delivering the highest levels of health, safety and environment, and quality performance to anyone who visits our premises or who undertakes their training and education with NETA. We constantly improve our standards.”

NETA’s managing director Phil Blewitt said: “I would just like to say a big thank you to all staff involved in helping us to achieve these awards for OHSAS 18001:2007 and ISO 9001:2015. It’s been a fantastic team effort all round and testimony to the hard work and dedication shown by everyone involved. To say I’m proud is an understatement.”
