Recruitment drive sees North East accountants Tait Walker create 20 jobs
North East accountancy firm Tait Walker is expanding its workforce.
In an ongoing recruitment drive, the company has taken on 10 new staff and plans to appoint a further 10 in the coming months.
The hires are part of a wider growth plan that saw Tait Walker increase its Gosforth HQ by over 9,000 sq ft in 2017, in addition to launching a base in Durham.
New additions include Hollie Thompson, Glen Thompson, Trevor Martin and Sam Moore. All four have joined the firm’s tax team, which now employs 40 people and recently welcomed Andrew Fitton in the role of tax director.
The other newcomers are Sam Sutcliffe, an IT support assistant; Matthew Chapman, a wealth support executive; and Michaela Bowes, Claire Metcalfe, Joseph Moran and Amardeep Kaur, all members of Tait Walker’s business services department.
Tax manager Hollie Thompson said: “At such an exciting period for the business, I am delighted to be working for Tait Walker.
“I am looking forward to developing my skills further and sharing my knowledge and experience with the team who have been extremely welcoming.”
Tait Walker HR partner Mark Parkinson commented: “We are thrilled to welcome 10 new starters to the Tait Walker team, this also comes at a time where we have also announced lots of internal promotions.
“We look for the very best talent that the North East has to offer and we are committed to helping the team develop their existing skills, both for their progression and to ensure that we meet the ever-evolving needs of our diverse client base.”
Founded in 1937, today Tait Walker employs 160 people across offices in Newcastle, Northumberland, Teesside, Durham and Carlisle.
