Seven-figure funding for international expansion at green startup The Cheeky Panda
Green startup The Cheeky Panda has raised a seven-figure investment.
The London-based company, which sells tissues made of 100% bamboo, secured £1m in funding from publishing giant Northern & Shell.
Valuing Cheeky Panda at £20m, the new cash will support the firm’s international expansion.
Cheeky Panda products are already available on Amazon and hold bestseller status on ecommerce platforms like Ocado, Wholefoods and Planet Organic.
Chris Forbes, co-founder of The Cheeky Panda, said: “This is a smart move for our company as we are listing with leading European supermarkets.
“It’s not just about the money. Northern & Shell will be able to help promote the brand and provide us the connections to take the company to the next level.”
Northern & Shell commercial director Richard Martin commented: “The Cheeky Panda and it’s high quality sustainable tissue aligns with our venture strategy and we are delighted to support such an innovative brand and ambitious team.”
“With UK and supermarket listings imminent and a glowing global presence we look forward to hearing more from The Cheeky Panda.”
