Bolton firm brings new light to garage door industry
Westhoughton-based garage door manufacturer, Select Garage Doors are a second generation family business who have been manufacturing garage doors for the trade for over 18 years.
This month, the innovative firm have invested in a bespoke product which will provide installers with greater choice for their customers when it comes to providing a garage door with windows.
Select’s idea for a bespoke sized glass frame came into fruition when demand for garage doors with windows increased in 2017, however the standard 540mm frame size meant that the styles of doors with windows were limited because of the frame size.
“When a customer wanted windows in their garage door, we could happily make this, however, there were limitations as to which types of doors we could put the windows in. Now we can produce garage doors of all styles with windows, meaning customers have greater choice” said Chris Gibson, Director at Select Garage Doors.
Now the specialist made-to-measure garage door manufacturer are making doors with a bespoke window frame so they can offer more choice to end customers wanting to take advantage of natural light coming into their garages. In one case, a customer requested for windows to be installed into the bottom section of their garage door so that their dog could see out, and this was not a problem to make for the Westhoughton firm.
Director of Select Garage Doors, Chris Gibson added;
“With trends in home exteriors changing, it’s important for us to stay ahead of the curve and offer great choice when it comes to garage doors.”
Select Garage Doors also have plans to move into bigger premises over the summer so they can produce more doors per day for their loyal trade customers.
