Oak Furniture Land creates jobs with opening of new store at Birstall Shopping Park

Oak Furniture Land, the UK’s largest retailer of solid hardwood furniture, has officially opened its first store at Birstall Shopping Park, Batley.

The 14,632 sq ft furniture store includes a mezzanine floor and showcases Oak Furniture Land’s brand new store format, which consists of a dedicated bedroom area upstairs – including room sets, and all dining, living and sofa ranges on the ground floor.

The store has created eight new jobs and forms part of the company’s on-going expansion, which saw the retailer open 22 new stores last year.

The new furniture store features over 20 ranges - including its painted ranges, Shay, and St Ives, as well as the natural oak ranges Romsey and Wiltshire launched for this Summer.

The showroom also features a large range of sofas and armchairs with 100% hardwood in the frames.

Richard Barnes, regional manager at Oak Furniture Land, commented: “Following on from the success of our other Yorkshire stores, we’re delighted to have opened our first store at Birstall Shopping Park.

“The retail park is a fantastic shopping destination and one that we’ve been keen to be part of for a while – we hope that our presence will cement the retail park’s reputation as a key destination for furniture shopping.

“The new store will be one of the first to showcase our fresh new layout which will provide customers with that all important inspiration, as well as enhancing their in-store experience.”
