New appointment supports growth for expanding tech firm

NEWCASTLE software firm ION has appointed a new sales executive as the company gears up for further growth, as part of a plan which includes recruiting another five developers to cope with demand.

The news comes on the back of the release of the Tech Nation Report 2018, which outlined the growth of the North East tech sector, and highlighted Newcastle’s ranking in the UK’s top seven fastest growing tech hubs.

High flying David Jeffs, 32 from Newcastle has been appointed to join the team based at the Regent Centre in Gosforth as a Salesforce specialist, bringing his wealth of experience and expertise in business technologies to the role, having previously worked at Technically Compatible.

David will help accelerate the implementation of Salesforce into North East businesses, which has seen significant adoption over the last eighteen months. The customer relationship management (CRM) tool has already proven to help companies increase revenue by 37%.

He will lead and develop ION’s support team as well as implementing tailor made CRM systems to customers in the North East and help oversee the development of ION’s new East London office on ‘tech roundabout’.

He said: “I am very invested in helping to grow the team into a sales powerhouse providing the best systems and services for our customers to help enable their businesses to improve their sales and objectives.

“I fell in love with ION’s ideas and vision for growth, particularly the recent launch of the London office – it’s exactly the type of company I feel that I can develop my career further with.”

ION is a registered consulting partner of Salesforce. Utilising an array of cloud-based tools, it allows companies of all sizes to connect with customers and provides them with the power to increase productivity and keep pipelines filled with solid leads and opportunities.
