Sheffield-based digital agency expands into historic Kelham Island building
Digital agency Joi Polloi has moved into a new base in the Kelham Island district of Sheffield.
After nine years operating from the city’s Broom Hall heritage buildings, the company has become the first to take space at the historic Wharncliffe Works on Green Lane.
Joi Polloi worked with interiors firm Henry Halls to restore and refit two floors in a wing of the Grade II-listed property.
The project retained many of the original features, including interior brickwork and metal columns.
The move follows growth at Joi Polloi that saw the firm hire six new staff on the back of a raft of contract wins, including a deal with Channel 4.
Andy Barratt, managing director of Joi Polloi, said: “We had been searching for some time for a space that we could make our own and that would reflect our creative direction and our Sheffield roots.
“Beyond the practicalities of having more space, meeting rooms and so on, we wanted to be able to create an environment that suited the way that we work.”
Andy continued: “Wharncliffe Works provided the right combination of character and heritage with the potential to tailor the space to suit us, in a prime location within Kelham’s growing digital and creative community.”
