Yorkshire House & Hub in Leeds ‘future proofed’ with £2.5m overhaul

Work on a multi-million pound project to refurbish Yorkshire House & Hub in Leeds is complete.

The 83,000 sq ft office complex, which dominates Greek Street and East Parade in the city centre, was given a £2.5m makeover by developer FORE Partnership.

The programme included a new entrance and reception on East Parade, a refurbished Greek Street entrance, new external lighting, refurbished toilets, new showers and a cycle storage room.

Externally, the seven-storey building was overhauled with the installation of York stone cladding.

Office suites available now range from 2,500 sq ft to 18,000 sq ft. The building’s Yorkshire Hub, which features design-led office space geared towards startups and expanding tech companies, has suites from 2,500 sq ft to 4,000 sq ft.

Co-working space company Our Space is the latest to sign at the development with a deal to take over 13,000 sq ft.

FORE managing partner Basil Demeroutis said: “We have recently become the first office building in Leeds city centre to receive the top Wired Score award for its digital connectivity, which will help us to help businesses located here grow.

“Digital connectivity is one of the key drivers for occupiers, particularly for Leeds’ growing tech sector where high speed connectivity is crucial.”

He continued: “It gives a clear signal to the market that Yorkshire House is not only one of the most digitally connected buildings in the city but that its digital infrastructure is future proofed.”

Knight Frank is jointly marketing the building with Cushman & Wakefield.

Elizabeth Ridler, office agency partner with Knight Frank in Leeds, commented: “The stunning refurbishment and total transformation of Yorkshire House & Hub, has brought the building up to an excellent standard and will capitalise on the ever-reducing levels of high quality stock in the city.

She added: “An exceptional number of amenities are available in the immediate vicinity of the newly-pedestrianised Greek Street, of which our clients were instrumental, including All Bar One, Dakota, Neighbourhood, The Alchemist and San Carlo.”

Alongside Our Space, tenants at Yorkshire House & Hub include law firm Lupton Fawcett and IT consultancy Alscient.
