Northamptonshire Company Provides Products for Britain’s Hottest TV Show

One of the UKs leading plastic manufacturers is celebrating the successful completion of a large order for one of the most popular TV shows.

Great Central Plastics – based in Woodford Halse – produced a rapid turnaround of 50k swizzle sticks in a short timeframe for its client, Shout Promotional Merchandise. The cocktail stirrers were created for the recently televised TV show Love Island.

The company, chosen for its ability to produce a large volume of creative and high quality products quickly, was awarded the contract following the completion of an order for worldwide children’s yoghurt provider Petit Filous.

Speaking about the swizzle sticks order Kiron Phillips, Sales and Marketing Executive at Great Central Plastics said: “We are delighted to have delivered such a large order of complex products in a short time span. Everything from design to completion happens in-house making Great Central Plastics one of the only manufacturers in the UK who can produce such intricate plastic moulds with such an extremely fast turnaround.”

Created to the client’s requirement, the stirrers were manufactured at the company’s Northamptonshire based facility spanning an impressive 10,500²ft. The product was required in pink and blue – 25k in each colour – and was tooled, moulded and delivered to the client in only two weeks. This fast turnaround demonstrated the company’s reputable manufacturing capabilities to provide vast amounts of products at speed while remaining high quality and on budget.

The swizzle sticks were created for the most watched ITV2 show ever, with the highest audience since the 2012 Olympics, and which has provided Great Central Plastics with a unique opportunity to promote its products to a wider audience. The company’s products have already been used for high profile clients such as Jaguar, Ben and Jerrys, Smirnoff and, the manufacturers first major contract, McDonalds.

Speaking about the potential exposure of the products promoting Love Island, Rowan Wilson, Sales Manager at Great Central Plastics said: “We’re thrilled that a product we manufactured is being used to promote a program viewed by millions. Established in 1998, Great Central Plastics has had a string of successful contract wins since securing their first order with McDonalds which involved supplying over 30 million units whilst working with them.
