Hays employees take on the 100km Cotswold way trek to raise over £2,500 for Action for Children
Hays employees from offices across the South West and Wales recently tackled the 100k Cotswold trek in support of Action for Children, Hays charity partner.
15 employees took part in the trek, with six completing the full 100km, which took a total of 27.5 hours through blistering 30 degree heat. As a result of their hard work the team have raised over £2,500 for Action for Children and are continuing to drive donations with the hope of beating the £3,000 mark.
Rebecca Sharp, Principal Recruitment Consultant at Hays, who organised the challenge commented: “It was the most challenging thing I have ever done, physically and mentally, but it was also incredibly rewarding crossing the finishing line. I would recommend anyone to do it, it was such a great event.”
Simon Winfield, Managing Director of Hays UK & Ireland, who took part commented: “It was a great two days with fantastic company in a tough event. I’m delighted we were able to raise money for Action for Children. It is fantastic to see the drive and passion to raise as much money as we possibly can, showing the commitment and work ethic our Hays South West and Wales businesses have.”
Mary O’Hagan, Head of Corporate Engagement at Action for Children, commented: “A huge well done to everyone at Hays who took part in the 100km Cotswold Way Trek. We’re incredibly proud to be working with Hays and their fundraising will help us to fund our vital employability programme.”
