The new restaurant to open at Stansted Airport inspired by Camden's colourful food scene

SSP, a food and beverage brands operator, has opened a new concept called The Camden Bar & Kitchen at London Stansted Airport.

Extending across two floors and with seating for 350 people, the 700 m2 restaurant features a full service premium bar offer on the upper level and a bar and deli for ‘grab and go’ customers on the lower level.

The new offer at London’s fastest growing airport draws inspiration from Camden itself and its famous market stalls. The lower level bar has an industrial, colourful feel and to reflect London’s art community, the restaurant has teamed up with St Martin’s College postgraduates to create a mural for the capital’s street food scene.

Ben Green, retail director for London Stansted Airport, said: “We are delighted to welcome The Camden Bar & Kitchen to London Stansted as the latest addition to our excellent line-up of great restaurants and bars.

“This is a very exciting time for the airport as the first phase of our £600m transformation of the passenger experience begins to take shape, new long-haul services to Dubai, USA and Canada launch and all in a year when we will be London’s fastest growing airport.”

The morning menu includes a ‘Rise & Dine’ offer featuring classic breakfast dishes, and the main menu features traditional classics alongside double stacker burgers and Thai and Indian influenced street food.

Local beers including Camden Hells Lager and Camden Pale Ale from Camden Town Brewery are also on offer, alongside other beers, wines and cocktails.

Simon Smith, CEO of SSP UK & Ireland, added: “The Camden Bar & Kitchen transforms one of the largest and most prominent spaces in the airside departure lounge into a modern eclectic restaurant, reflecting the spirit of contemporary London and its most famous food market.”
