KINROSS COLTS SCORE WITH PERSIMMON FOOTBALL KIT DONATION
A Kinross football club has scored a brand new football kit thanks to Persimmon Homes North Scotland.
The donation to Kinross Colts Junior Football Club 2011s will fund new kit for the team of youngsters, aged between six and seven. Persimmon Homes North Scotland chose the 2011 team to receive £1,000 as a part of its Community Champions initiative, which gives away £2,000 each month to good causes in the region. The club encourages confidence and fitness for young people in Kinross aged between four and 16 years of age who love the sport and encourages respect for others in the pursuit of fair and competitive play.
Sheena Hall, fundraiser at Kinross Colts, said: “We are so grateful to Persimmon Homes for their support and generosity.
“The team will be over the moon to get new football kit which helps to make them feel part of a team. Let’s hope it brings some good fortune to the team on and off the pitch.
“We are run entirely by volunteers, mostly the Colts parents, and everyone at the club including the children get involved in fundraising.
“We noticed the level of investment that Persimmon are making in Kinross with two new sites and approached them for support – hearing that we had been chosen to receive £1,000 was fantastic.”
Iain Innes, managing director for Persimmon Homes North Scotland, said: “We’ve always supported the local communities in which we build homes, so we didn’t hesitate in donating funds for new kit for the Kinross Colts.
“They are exactly the kind of group that the Community Champions scheme was set up to help and we applaud the volunteers that work so hard to encourage young people to take part in the sport.
“We are building a wide range of new homes at our Lathro Meadows and Weavers Loan developments and are keen to support groups, clubs and charities in and around Kinross.”
