BEHIND EVERY GREAT ENTREPRENEUR…
Happy World Entrepreneurs’ Day.
21 August marks World Entrepreneurs’ Day and for Higgs & Sons it’s a day to celebrate the tens of thousands of clients that the business has supported since the firm launched in 1875.
The annual event is designed to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership – qualities that the firm sees every day from its diverse range of clients; from small family businesses to large corporate enterprises.
To mark the event, Higgs asked partners from across its many departments to give the one bit of advice they would give to entrepreneurs of the future:
Managing Partner Paul Hunt says entrepreneurs should build their businesses for their customers. Above all, he said: “Surround yourself with great people and create an environment in which they can flourish.”
Head of Corporate Nick Taylor’s advice is to: “Look after your staff and they will look after your customers. Always think carefully and then trust your instinct.”
Philip Barnsley, Head of Family advised: “Look after your family’s business like you look after your family business.”
Finally, Jamie Partington, Partner, Corporate said: “Look for advisers who understand your industry, work regularly with businesses your size, have experience of the issues you need to deal with and are keen to build a long term relationship.”
