Three Peaks success helps hospital buy vital equipment

A team from Synergy Automotive has risen to the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge in soaring temperatures to help boost the quality of life for sick children.

The achievement was a first for 8 of the 9 walkers from the award-winning car and van leasing provider who tackled and completed the 24.5 mile challenge within the 12-hour target.

The £2,000 raised will enable Harrogate District Hospital’s Paediatric Outpatient Department to take stock of two Masimo monitors which measure pulse and oxygen saturation and are instrumental in providing an accurate diagnosis for a range of conditions. They can also allow children to use the monitors at home rather than stay in hospital, which aids recovery time.

Paul Parkinson, Synergy MD, said: “Well done to our determined team. Completing The Yorkshire Three Peaks is no mean achievement, and we all felt it on the one of the hot summer days of the recent heatwave. “The milestone reflects our passion as a business to give back to our local communities. We’re proud to support the inspirational work of the children’s department and make a difference to the children its committed team cares for.”

Harrogate-based Synergy continues to go from strength to strength with the latest wave of appointments bringing the team to 40-strong - marking a 50% staff increase in 12 months.

The company’s vibrant community relations programme also includes a colourful ‘It’s a Knockout Challenge’ involving copious amounts of foam and water which takes place at Ripley Castle on September 30th and will again further support Harrogate Hospital.
