10 Signs You Might Be An Entrepreneur

Your Parents Are Entrepreneurs

If you come from a family of people who couldn’t stand the idea of working for someone else, you might be an entrepreneur. Although this won’t apply to all entrepreneurs, many have a history of one or both parents working for themselves. When you grow up with that way of thinking, it becomes a part of you.

You’re Self-Confident

To be a successful entrepreneur, you have to believe in yourself. After all, if you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect your clients to believe in you? Entrepreneurs are highly self-confident individuals who don’t take ‘no’ for an answer. They persevere and keep working toward their goals. Most entrepreneurs are very optimistic about things around them.

You’re Passionate

Along with self-confidence, an entrepreneur must be passionate about what they are doing. There will be times where you work long hours and don’t make a dime. Those times are tough for anyone, but it is your passion that will keep you moving forward, even when you feel like giving up. It will remind you why you chose to do what you do.

You Were Never Employee of the Month

Most entrepreneurs struggle with working for “the man.” Restrictive policies are often a drain on creative mentalities, a set work schedule can seem stifling, and you’ve probably been fired a time or two. These are all signs that you are meant to be in business for yourself, doing what you’re passionate about.

You’re Wardrobe Consists of T-Shirts

If the idea of wearing business casual bores you to tears, and your wardrobe is mostly t-shirts and either jeans or shorts, then you might be the type best suited to work from home. There may be rare occasions where it’s beneficial to dress up and make an impression on a client, but on the whole, working for yourself means you can wear what you want.

You Work Long Hours for Low Pay

If you work 60-80 hours a week, but you made more money at your hourly high school job, you’re probably an entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur doesn’t mean you’re always broke, but in the beginning you might be. To get started, you have to put in long hours to get things up and running. During the beginning, it may feel like you made more money in high school.

You See Opportunities Everywhere

One of the biggest signs you might be an entrepreneur is that you see opportunities everywhere. If you have a retail business, perhaps everyone you speak to is a potential client. If you’re an artist, every business is a potential place to hang your art. You recognize and capitalize on opportunities as they present themselves.

You’re a People Person

If you like people and have no problems striking up a conversation, then you might be an entrepreneur. To be successful in your business, you have to be able to pitch your product or service and win people over. If you prefer contacting by email, you should use custom writing techniques. Sure, everyone likes a little alone time, but if you want to be successful in business, you have to get used to dealing with people on a regular basis.

Selling Stuff is Easy

If you had a lemonade stand as a kid that always sold out, or you were particularly gifted at moving your girl scout cookie inventory, you might have what it takes to be an entrepreneur. Sales is a large part of just about every business. Sometimes it might not be the part you’re passionate about, but if you want to see your business grow, then you need to be able to handle a sale.

You Think Outside the Box

Being in business for yourself brings forth all sorts of challenges. Some are easy to handle while others require some creative thinking. To be a successful entrepreneur, you have to be able to meet challenges head on and think outside the box to find solutions that aren’t readily available
