Business success: Local home care provider quadruples in size

MyLife Living Assistance Bristol, which provides home care and companionship to vulnerable people in the city and its local area, has cemented itself as one of the region’s biggest business success stories after quadrupling in size in little more than a year.

“We have diversified into providing specialist care for people with complex needs,” says MyLife Bristol’s business manager Simon Monks. “We have also built excellent relationships with Bristol City Council and local hospital discharge teams, working flexibly and at short notice to find immediate care placements for people who are well enough to go home. This helps to reduce bed blocking and relieves pressure on the NHS.”

MyLife Bristol has also experienced growth as word has spread of its first-class living assistance and companionship services, which include personal care and accompanying customers on trips. It has quadrupled the number of weekly care hours it delivers since January 2017, with referrals at an all-time high.

The company’s success is creating employment opportunities for local people. Over the last year the company has recruited 30 new living assistants and currently has fifteen vacancies, both for trainees and experienced carers.

MyLife Bristol’s registered manager Hayley Lukaszewski, who joined the company last year, comments: “Our staff are the lifeblood of our business and perform vital roles in the local community, helping customers live independently in their own homes.
