Local housebuilder honours community ‘stars’ with engraved plaque
Local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, is honouring volunteers at local charity, Sporting Memories Network, by unveiling a special engraved plaque at its Castlegate development.
In celebration of its five-star rating in the HBF (Home Builders Federation) customer satisfaction survey, the housebuilder wanted to recognise star quality across the region and asked the Northallerton community to nominate a charity whose hard-working volunteers continually benefit people within the local area.
Area Project Officer, Megan Hale, from charity The Sporting Memories Network, spotted star quality from the charity’s volunteers and nominated them as a mark of their ongoing hard work and commitment within the community. The charity supports older people across the UK living with dementia, depression and loneliness by engaging them in social activities and helping them to recall memories of watching or playing sport. Each volunteer’s passion for sport helps the charity to thrive; they are all fundamental in developing support networks for carers and those being cared for, and help to build new friendships.
Megan commented: “I’m delighted that we are able to recognise all of the hard work, time and effort that the volunteers have dedicated to The Sporting Memories Network. The whole group is really wonderful, and it’s great to see members of the community valuing their efforts. Our volunteers support and time has helped so many people and we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate their dedication to the local area.”
Chris Neal, Sales Manager for Castlegate, commented: “As a community focused housebuilder, we believe that it’s important to support our local areas and the people who live there. The five-star award recognises our commitment to outstanding customer service; it’s through this we build long lasting and trusting relationships with our customers and we wanted to acknowledge people we believe encompass the same five-star values in the communities in which we build. We’re thrilled to highlight the fantastic work of the volunteers at Sporting Memories Network at our Castlegate development.”
