Middlesbrough research centre backs UK Pods' international growth plans
The Materials Processing Institute is supporting the growth of expanding manufacturer, UK Pods with its new base in the Tees Valley.
UK Pods has received support from the Materials Processing Institute, a Middlesbrough-based research and innovation centre, with the provision of office facilities for the firm.
Established in October 2016, UK Pods is a supplier for British healthcare providers, with its products used in approximately 50 per cent of the NHS’s mental health services.
Genevieve Crawford, UK Pods’ managing director, said: “After we established ourselves in the region we have experienced positive growth at UK Pods, which meant that we needed larger premises for our operations and growing workforce.
“We are extremely grateful to the team at the Materials Processing Institute for the support and services they have provided us, which will help our continuing expansion in the UK and overseas.”
The Materials Processing Institutes’ offices provide a central location and great reception facilities for UK Pods, in addition to space required for the company’s administration, training and warehousing activities.
Chris McDonald, CEO of the Materials Processing Institute, concluded: “We are delighted to help growing businesses like UK Pods establish themselves on both a local and international level, while supporting job creation in the Tees Valley.
“Genevieve and her team were seeking a property with particular qualities, including large space and a central location, which we were happy to accommodate with our facilities at the Materials Processing Institute.”
