Hull jewellers launch latest Rolex offering following seven-figure investment
Luxury jewellers Hugh Rice has launched a new Rolex room in Hull with the backing of a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK.
The Hull-based retailer opened its new 880 sq ft Rolex area in St. Stephen’s Centre, next to its flagship premises. The expansion offers customers a fully-branded Rolex retail experience, complete with a portfolio of watches, expert staff and servicing facilities.
As a result of the expansion, the business expects to increase its revenue and create four new jobs in the next year. In addition, the retailer also plans to launch new Hugh Rice branded stores across the North by 2020.
Paul Rice, managing director of Hugh Rice, said: “To bring such a distinguished brand to Hull is a huge privilege for us.
“We’ve been working hard to secure this partnership with Rolex for a number of years now and it is through investing in premises in Hull’s premier retail space, with the support of HSBC UK, that we have realised our business goal.”
Hugh Rice is now the only official Rolex partnered retailer in Hull and the wider East Yorkshire region.
Scott Christian, HSBC UK’s relationship director for North and East Yorkshire, added: “Hugh Rice has adapted over the years to remain a prominent retailer and it is encouraging that it has chosen to further invest in Hull.
“As it’s the only official Rolex partnered retailer in Hull and the wider East Yorkshire region, we expect it will attract shoppers to the high street.”
Established in 1971, Hugh Rice currently has 15 stores across Yorkshire and the North East, employing more than 300 people. The retailer stocks a range of exclusive and popular brands including Omega, Tag Heuer, Breitling, Tudor & Chopard.
