Entrepreneurs behind four health startups join Leeds-based accelerator
Brand design consultancy Elmwood has signed up four startups to its Leeds-based accelerator programme, Elmwood LaunchPod.
Engagify, Dietary Assessment Ltd, Shift.ms and DigiBete will all take part in the first programme when it gets underway in September.
Spanning 12 weeks, the accelerator will promote the development of startups by supporting entrepreneurs as they work to scale their operations.
Elmwood said it will shape the direction of businesses and encourage community collaboration, putting “creativity and technology at the core”.
For the inaugural programme, the company has focused on startups exploring how people connect with their health and with healthcare infrastructure.
Engagify Ltd is developing Sayge, an AI solution to support mental health in the workplace.
Dietary Assessment Ltd is tackling diet-related disease with an online tool, myfood24, that allows researchers, teachers and health professionals to monitor and analyse food and drink consumption.
Shift.ms, a charity, offers a free social network for people with multiple sclerosis.
DigiBete is a patient-centred video sharing platform and educational resource about Type 1 Diabetes.
Elmwood managing partner Sarah Dear, MD of of Elmwood LaunchPod, said: “We are excited to welcome an amazing group of talented entrepreneurs who share Elmwood’s passion for innovative thinking and design.
“These organisations are using creativity and technology to address real health problems and shape the future of healthcare and consumer health experiences.”
She added: “Working collaboratively, we can support the drive and commitment these entrepreneurs possess and help them scale up and reach their next level of growth.”
