Camera shy? Over 70% of Leeds business travellers don’t post about their experiences on social media
A poll of 2,000 business travellers, conducted by Leeds’ official conference bureau, ConferenceLeeds, has found that 72% of people in Leeds wouldn’t post about business travel on social media. The survey revealed the actions, thoughts and habits of business travellers across the nation.
It was found that 72% of people in Leeds wouldn’t post about business travel on social media, which is 1% higher than the national average. The people most likely to post are from Cambridge, with 42% of people from the city saying that they would post. The least likely to post are from Sheffield, with a huge 94% stating that they would never post.
People from Leeds ranked breaking routine and the novelty of being out of the office as the best parts of business travel and when travelling, they were most likely to neglect a healthy diet and getting enough rest.
Over half of people in Leeds look forward to business travel opportunities, with 15% reporting to hate travelling for work. The people who hate travelling for work the most are from Sheffield, with 31% of them reporting to hate business travel. People from Wrexham, however, love it – with 41% stating that they always look forward to business travel.
When it comes to travelling abroad for work, only 36% of people from Leeds have had this opportunity. This trails behind the leading city, Oxford, where 65% have travelled abroad and leads against Wrexham, where only 17% have had the chance to go abroad on business travel.
On the survey findings, Claire Heap, Head of ConferenceLeeds, commented: “Our research has revealed some very interesting facts about business travellers not only across the nation, but here in Leeds. It was a shock to find out the limited amount of travellers posting about their trips on social media, especially as we live in such a tech savvy world!
There are so many Instagrammable places across the country to take advantage of, with landmarks and unique destinations in cities across the UK. Leeds is full of great spots to snap, from Leeds Corn Exchange, a Grade I Victorian building, through to Belgrave Music Hall and Canteens’ impressive roof terrace – no need to be camera shy!
Leeds also fairs well against some areas in terms of looking forward to business travel opportunities, with over half stating this. Much more than nearby Sheffield, with 31% saying they hated business travel!“
