Charities Receive 5000 Hours Boost Thanks to New Initiative

Cloud technology brand UKFast today announces a new programme donating 5000 hours to the local community, worth £67,000 a year.

The tech firm’s volunteering programme sees the UKFast team offered at least one day per year to volunteer for causes in the local community, led by UKFast’s new director of CSR Russell Feingold.

Feingold said: “Having worked with UKFast in my days at the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas warehouse, I know how much energy the team brings to everything they do. That’s an incredible resource and one that charities are crying out for.

“Bringing this kind of hands-on support to children’s charity projects across the North is invaluable and we’ve already seen the impact of their energy first hand.”

Twenty of the UKFast team recently spent the day transforming the goat and alpaca enclosures at the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust. The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust provides respite holidays for children with life-limiting or life-threatening illness.

The summer’s volunteering has also seen the UKFast team helping at the Seashell Trust, which supports children with Autism and various other conditions and at Everyone Can, a digital charity that enables disabled children and their siblings to game together using modified controllers.

UKFast MD Gail Jones said: “Seeing how the team were put to work at the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, I knew that we made the right choice in launching this programme. It’s not only an amazing opportunity to make a real difference to the community, it’s also great team-building for the team too.

“We’ve always done what we can to help those around us, whether that’s through our work with schools or in the local area, and now, by formalising that into a dedicated programme, we’re able to make sure that we’re having a wide-reaching, lasting impact across the North West.”

UKFast’s commitment to helping those in need has seen the organisation recently launch a new Breakfast Club at Holy Name RC School in Moss Side, Manchester, as well as sponsoring the Bitesize Bootcamp initiative.

In the past year, UKFast has developed and installed seven new Raspberry Pi cafes in schools and youth centres across Greater Manchester, bringing hands-on access to technology learning.
