Sleep Eat Love expanding following storming success

Sleep Eat Love – the Hatton Garden-based “poshtel” owned by local hospitality outfit The Know Group – is set to open a further 28 rooms in September, following a hugely successful initial launch period.

This follows news that in mid-September a Love Thy Neighbour (one of Liverpool’s hippest eateries) will open on the ground floor of the hostel, bringing the restaurant’s famed feel-good dishes to guests’ fingertips. The team is keen to foster a real sense of community in the hostel, with a further three communal areas – library, a cinema and a gym – opening in the coming month. It’s hoped that their arrival will allow guests to come together and socialise in a relaxed, luxurious setting.

The additional rooms will take the total to over 100, meeting increasing demand for more space. The contemporary accommodation has turned the notion of a run-of-the-mill hostel on its head, providing travellers on a budget with an affordable but stylish solution – and eschewing the dingy interiors hostels have been traditionally associated with.

Steven Hesketh, CEO of The Know Group, commented: “We’ve been blown away by the success of Sleep Eat Love. We identified a clear gap in the market for stylish accommodation which wasn’t fussy and didn’t break the bank, and the overwhelming response we’ve had since opening has affirmed that to us.

“What’s more, there’s a clear alignment between the Love Thy Neighbour and Sleep Eat Love brands, so we’re incredibly excited by the prospect of having both under one roof. We hope the arrival of Love Thy Neighbour will provide our guests with a fully-rounded, first-class experience.

“We have very limited availability up until mid-October, and so the timing couldn’t be more apt for a raft of new rooms. We’re looking forward to welcoming more travellers to stay.”

A large number of those bookings were in fact made by the Giants team – the crew working with the enormous marionettes created by street theatre company Royal de Luxe. This will mark the third time the Giants visit Liverpool, and this year’s outdoor show will mark 10 years since the city’s triumphant crowning as European City of Culture. The event staff will be using the hostel as one of three accommodations during their upcoming return.

The Sleep Eat Love concept is also set to be taken further afield, as The Know Group has scoped out a site in Chester to bring the brand to – joining the Chester Townhouse and the 1699 Brasserie, the company’s other venues in the city.

The Group is currently undergoing a period of speedy growth, having recently opened the 1699 Brasserie, made a variety of new senior appointments and sent its Piri Piri Express fast casual chain to franchise. Sleep Eat Love’s expansion is just one of a host of exciting projects the company has lined up for 2018/19.
