Martin-Brooks on course for golf day success

The roofing specialists at Sheffield’s Martin-Brooks are teeing up friends and colleagues from across the country to take part in their annual charity golf day.

The flagship event was attended by more than 50 participants last year and the firm is hoping to attract even greater numbers later this week.

Held at Renishaw Park Golf Club on September 14, the 18-hole Stableford competition will be played in teams of four and includes breakfast on arrival and a two-course post-round meal. A prize presentation will follow, to reward the best individual and team and recognise achievements, such as nearest the pin and longest drive.

Dale Wright, Martin-Brooks’ contracts director, organises the event. He said: “We have been holding our charity golf day for a number of years now and we receive fantastic support from across the construction industry. It is a great opportunity to enjoy the company of colleagues, whilst raising much needed funds for the small, local charities that are very close to our hearts.”

To mark 25 years in business, Martin-Brooks pledged to raise £25,000 for local charities. This figure has now been reached, but the firm is continuing its support of the organisations with whom it has forged close links. They include, Amy’s Retreat, Catcliffe MS Therapy Centre, Cavendish Cancer Care, Sheffield Talking News, St Vincent’s Furniture Scheme and The Rowan School.
