Boards Direct beats industry slump with 12% sales growth
A Nottingham firm is proving there are no borders when it comes to success, after boosting sales by 12% in 2018.
Boards Direct, which has specialised in visual display products, including whiteboards, notice boards and other display products since 2010, has credited its commitment to customer service and wide product range as the secrets to its success.
The Lenton Lane based company is bucking industry trends, which have seen sales drop by as much as 15% due to import issues and the uncertainty surrounding Brexit. Boards Direct’s success has also enabled it to support local young people by providing apprenticeship opportunities, with two apprentices gaining permanent positions within finance and customer service earlier this year.
Paul Pinder, Chairman at Boards Direct, comments: “Despite current uncertainty in the British economy due to ongoing political negotiations in Europe, we are a company that is thriving and continuing to grow.
“Boards Direct has achieved a 12% increase in sales in 2018 and that is partly due to the quality and range of products that we offer, with 3,000 products now available on our website.
“We continue to develop new lines and introduce new products as trends evolve. This year we extended our Mobiglass collection with Mobiglass Plus, an exclusive range of mobile glass writing boards that are designed and manufactured here in Nottingham, so our continued growth is also helping to support local businesses.
“It has given us the opportunity to provide young people, who want an alternative to university, with experience and training across the whole of our business combined with real job opportunities.
“Since the company was founded eight years ago, we have established ourselves as leaders in the industry due to our commitment to customer service and the product guidance that we offer. We believe this ethos will support our continued growth as we look towards our 10th birthday.”
Boards Direct counts Nottingham Trent University, Fortnum and Mason, Lloyds and Barclays Bank among its clientele, which also includes SMEs and educational establishments across the UK.
