Fulham strike partner deal with FirstPoint USA
Fulham FC have signed a partnership with FirstPoint USA to help ex academy players get onto American collegiate programmes.
The deal, announced this morning (September 11), will make the Manchester-headquartered agency the club’s official university scholarship partner.
FirstPoint will work closely with the Whites’ academy players and get them ready for life after Fulham.
Its services will include helping young players find a US college to assist them in their academic life and have them compete in American leagues.
In a statement on Fulham’s website, head of academy player care Lee Hagger said: “Having worked with [chief exec] Andrew Kean and the FirstPoint team over the past few years we were impressed with their expertise, professionalism and commitment to help place our boys with top US collegiate programmes.
“Fulham and FirstPoint have similar core values and, like us, care about the young players and what happens to them next.”
He added: “We trust FirstPoint to help our ex academy players secure scholarships which will enable the players to continue studying and playing at a high level.”
FirstPoint USA CEO Andrew Kean commented: “We are delighted to secure a formal partnership with Fulham Football Club and further extend our relationship with its academy.
“As Fulham embark on a new and exciting season in the Premier League, we will be supporting both the academy and its staff, creating new opportunity for released academy scholars at universities throughout the USA.”
