Family Firm Move For Future Expansion

A family-run accountancy firm is set to become more established in the Llandudno area thanks to the relocation of its offices.

A lack of parking, long traffic delays and inadequate space, meant JT Thomas & Co, Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers, were struggling to offer the required level of accessibility to its current and potential client base in the centre of Llandudno.

Now the family firm, that has been handling accounts and tax planning matters for business owners, entrepreneurs and individuals in the Conwy and Gwynedd area for over 35 years, are set to employ more staff as a result of their move to Anson House, in Llandudno Junction.

Max Thomas, Managing Director, whose father set up the firm in 1981, said: “Although we have been around for many years we are aspirational to become more established in the area and this move was the perfect step in the right direction for that. We felt we needed offices that promoted a more professional, contemporary feel whilst providing access to our clients and now we have ample parking, modern fresh spacious offices, it sets the right tone for where we want to be.”

J T Thomas & Co employ 12 people across North Wales, including Max’s sister, Amy Jones and his wife, Natalie Thomas at their three offices in Llandudno, Criccieth and Blaenau Ffestiniog and have plans in the next five years to increase that number with talent from the local area.

The accountancy firm also has plans to invest in the business and take on local people who want the opportunity to gain qualifications in the accountancy profession too - helping boost the grassroots economy in turn.

Staff can now benefit from dedicated bike stores, communal modern kitchen space, ample parking and easy access from the A55 and A470, due to Anson Houses’ location, set back off Narrow Lane, Llandudno Junction.

Matthew Gilmartin, director of Beech Developments, the local property firm who built the high-spec, eco-friendly office space, said: “We’ve been overwhelmed with the response to Anson House, showing a real need for good quality office space in the area. We welcome JT Thomas & Co to the eclectic mix of businesses already here - including us! We’re really pleased that a local firm with such a great reputation has set down roots here and I’m sure they will make the most of all the great amenities the building has to offer.”
