Buyer sought for Chelsea postal building transformation
A multi-million pound development opportunity in the heart of Chelsea has come to market.
London estate agency Bective Leslie Marsh is inviting offers, based on a guide price of £51m, from companies interested in turning the former Chelsea Sorting & Postal Office building into new homes and retail space.
Planning consent granted for the 48,731 sq ft scheme in June has greenlit the demolition of buildings and the retention and alteration of the site’s historic façade, at 18 Chelsea Manor Street and 232 Kings Road.

The planning has also paved the way for the construction of two new, inter-connected buildings, rising to five and six storeys with a basement level.
If it moves forward, the development could create 26 apartments, 15 underground parking spaces and a two-storey retail unit spanning 3,868 sq ft and fronting onto Kings Road.
Architectural firm Chelsea Consultants worked on designs for the approved project.
