AECOM’s Brian Ward joins First Thursday Club management team

Construction industry networking group, East Midlands First Thursday Club, has welcomed long-standing member Brian Ward to its management team to bring new ideas and to help with the continuance of the Club going forward.

As Technical Director for Buildings and Places at US engineering firm AECOM, Nottingham-based Brian brings a wealth of construction and engineering expertise to the new voluntary role.

On his recent appointment Brian said: “I’ve been a member of First Thursday Club for many years and it is a really valuable network for construction professionals. I’m keen to be more involved and I hope to play an active part in the day to day management of the group, as well as introduce a few new ideas to help shape it’s future success.”

Other members of the First Thursday Club management team include BWB Consulting, Derry Limited, EB Secretarial Solutions, Franklin Ellis, Peter Graham Consulting and Willmott Dixon. In the last 15 years the not-for-profit First Thursday Club has gone from 30 members to over 200 and the team look forward to working with Brian.

Peter Graham said: “It’s excellent news that Brian is taking on a management role within the Club. We very much look forward to having his expertise, input and enthusiasm on the management team to prepare us for our next 15 years.”

The popular membership and monthly networking group is dedicated to the Midlands construction industry and aims to facilitate business opportunities, through informal lunch meetings. Members include contractors, sub-contractors, architects, engineers, suppliers and manufacturers from around the East Midlands and beyond. New members are always welcome and are encouraged to come along to meet Brian and the rest of the management team at the monthly events.
