Grade II-listed pub building in Sedgefield undergoes ‘amazing’ restaurant transformation

A Grade II-listed building in County Durham that once housed a pub is relaunching as a restaurant.

The Impeccable Pig, offering bistro-style food and fine wines, will be the latest venue in leisure operator Ramside Estates’ growing culinary portfolio.

Occupying the former Hope Inn premises in Sedgefield, the venue will be led by chef Chris Finnigan, who served an apprenticeship at Le Manoir in Oxford under French chef Raymond Blanc and has since worked in several other Michelin-starred restaurants.

The Impeccable Pig will offer a private dining option, in addition to its restaurant space, with a new mezzanine level that can seat up to 18 guests.

General manager Pierre Bertolotti said: “We can’t wait to show the first stage of this amazing transformation with the opening of the restaurant.

“We believe it will fast become the go-to place for the whole area and that everyone will be impressed with not only the look of the pub and restaurant, but also by the fantastic food we are going to offer.”

The first phase of The Impeccable Pig will open its doors on Friday (September 28). New features including 10 individually styled dining rooms due to open mid-October.
