Equiniti Credit Services grows workforce to 180 as fintech ‘hub of excellence’ expands

October 2018, Equiniti Credit Services, the UK’s leading loans management and credit technology company, has grown its workforce by 20 per cent to 180 employees since relocating to a purpose-designed hub of excellence to strengthen its expertise in fintech services to banks and consumer finance lenders. The company, based at the Equiniti Northern Tech Hub in Leeds, has recruited an additional 15 software engineers to drive innovation in the continued development of its proprietary technology platform. This integrates with customer systems using agile technologies which enable financial services companies to develop new web-based loan products quickly and with flexibility, adapting to changes and consumer preferences in choosing digital-based lending. Tom Martin, Head of Technology at Equiniti Credit Services, said: “We’re making significant progress with exciting engagements from both new and existing clients. But our expansion is not simply about growth. “Giving our clients the capability to bring new financial services to the market with speed and certainty, especially now that the digital experience drives attitudes and expectations from consumers, is essential. “We have to keep pace with new capabilities and new thinking in developing web-based APIs and to do that we have to attract talent. It is a competitive recruitment scene in fintech across Leeds and the Northern Powerhouse region, but we can attract people by continuing to do what we do, the way we do it.”
More than 30 jobs have been created following the company’s move to the Equiniti Northern Tech Hub, situated at Lawnswood Business Park. The workforce demonstrates a successful coming together of teams from Equiniti Pancredit, previously in Yeadon, and Nostrum, formerly in Harrogate.
The IT department is looking to add other skills to support a major project involving Microsoft Azure, the enterprise-grade cloud computing platform for building, testing, deploying and managing applications and services.
