Leeds-based mattress startup OTTY Sleep announces Netherlands expansion
Online mattress retailer OTTY Sleep is expanding its footprint overseas with the launch of a new European venture.
The Leeds-based company, founded in 2016, has announced the opening of a virtual office and warehouse facility in Amsterdam.
OTTY Sleep’s Netherlands operation will work as its own entity, processing and shipping directly from the Dutch capital with support from the firm’s Leeds HQ.
The latest expansion is OTTY’s second European venture to date, following a launch in Germany earlier this year with help from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.
Michal Szlas, founder and CEO of OTTY Sleep, said: “We first ventured into Europe earlier this year following the company’s success in the UK.
“Ultimately, the expansion has proved to be successful, and we’ve since seen potential customers from other European countries ask about our award-winning products.”
He continued: “We saw Netherlands as the next natural step, and are employing new members of the team to help accommodate the increasing demand.
“We’re very confident the Dutch venture will bring the same amount of success that we’ve already experienced in the UK and Germany.”
OTTY Sleep currently employs a team of nine and operates three UK distribution centres.
