Award-winning Cambridge graduate lined up for BCO lunch

One of property’s most influential and revered commentators is set to address an audience of leading property professionals at a special event in Cambridge.

Paul Finch will headline the British Council for Offices’ (BCO) inaugural East Anglia lunch in Cambridge on Thursday, October 11th.

A Cambridge history graduate with more than 35 years’ experience as a journalist, Paul Finch is former programme director of the World Architecture Festival and editor emeritus of Architectural Review and Architects’ Journal. He was awarded an OBE for services to architecture in 2002.

The first of its kind to be held in the region, the BCO event will be attended by an expected audience of 200 property professionals, including Richard Kauntze, CEO of the BCO.

Danny Parmar, chair of the BCO East Anglia committee and business development manager at fit out specialists Overbury, said: “We’re thrilled to announce Paul as guest speaker at our inaugural East Anglia lunch in Cambridge. We have experienced a high demand for tickets from BCO members and industry professionals keen to hear Paul’s thoughts on a range of topics.

“It’s an exciting time for the city with pronounced growth in the past 12 months and the emergence of UK-leading science and technology companies, so it feels very fitting that a Cambridge graduate and hugely respected figure in the property world will be joining us.”

Established in 1990, the BCO is Britain’s leading forum for the discussion and debate of issues affecting the office sector. Its members are organisations involved in creating, acquiring or occupying office space, including architects, lawyers, surveyors, financial institutions and public agencies.

Paul Finch is an honorary fellow of the RIBA and of University College London, who has served as CABE commissioner and deputy chair. He holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Westminster and is an honorary member of the BCO. He was presented with the BCO Presidents Award in 2017 for an outstanding contribution to the property industry.

The BCO Annual East Anglia Lunch will take place at DoubleTree Hilton, Cambridge, on Thursday October 11th, 2018. The event is sponsored by national office fit out and refurbishment specialists, Overbury and COEL.
