Law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD) has welcomed its 2018 trainee intake with six first year trainee solicitors joining the firm’s Bristol office.

Ben Powell, Samuel Urry, Sian Burns, Lucy Thorn, Harry Rouse and Joe Perry join the firm’s Corporate & Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Real Estate and Private Wealth teams.

Overall, 26 first year trainee solicitors join the firm’s UK offices and will have the opportunity to work across WBD’s eleven key sectors of expertise, including energy and natural resources; financial institutions; healthcare; insurance; manufacturing; real estate; retail and consumer; transport, logistics and infrastructure; life sciences and pharmaceuticals; technology; and private wealth.

Julian Kinsey, Partner and Head of WBD’s Bristol office, said: “Our people are at the very heart of what we do and we are delighted to welcome our new trainees in Bristol. They play a crucial part in our pipeline of future solicitors and to the growth and success of the firm.

“Our training programme is one of the best in the country, offering many opportunities for new talent to develop; and providing the essential skills, expertise and commercial acumen to pursue a successful career in law.”

Last year, WBD was named as a top graduate employer, ranking 161 in the 2017 Guardian UK 300 list. Over 60 law firms were ranked and WBD featured amongst the top 20. The annual list is made up following the votes from over 60,000 students and recognise the best employers in the UK for people seeking graduate jobs.

WBD is one of the largest law firms in Bristol where it employs around 235 staff.
