North Yorkshire chemical processing business celebrates 30th anniversary with new look

Cod Beck Blenders, the Thirsk-based toll and contract manufacturer, is celebrating 30 years in business with a new corporate identity.

The company has undergone a complete re-branding to give it a fresh, modern image and it has also launched a brand new website. Since being established in 1988, Cod Beck Blenders, which serves blue chip clients in the pharmaceutical, agricultural, agrochemical, horticultural and fine chemical industries, has seen huge growth. It now employs 100 staff at its purpose-built eight acre site and last year processed 27,000 tonnes of material.

The business has continued to invest in its facilities and plant with a project to create a new 975m2 warehouse and access road being completed in December 2017. It has ordered an automated pouch filling machine, due to arrive in November, which will enhance Cod Beck’s ability to fill, pack and automatically check weigh pouches with powder from 50g to 500g. The investment in this technology will be a significant step forward in throughput and quality performance, enabling the company to deliver a repeatable, quality product with full traceability every time.

Cod Beck Blenders, in partnership with a customer, has also recently added a serialisation kit for its veterinary medicines plant. Steven Meyer, managing director of Cod Beck Blenders, explains: “As we approached the milestone of our 30th birthday, we felt that it was time to re-evaluate the business and we realised that our corporate ID needed to be updated.

“As a third party processor, we work with some of the leading names across a wide range of sectors, acting as an extension of their operations and we have long been trusted as their partner. Our fresh look, new website and enhanced marketing materials more closely reflect this position, aligning us with our clients and conveying the professionalism of our business as we continue to expand and improve our services.”
