Explore Learning celebrated for their Customer Service

Explore Learning have been named the winner of the Best Customer Service Awards at The Surrey Business Awards. The tuition company, which is headquartered in Guildford fought off tough competition from companies across the region who all gathered at the Epsom Downs Racecourse for the prestigious event on October 4th.

Hosted by Paul Sinha, comedian and star of ITV’s hit show The Chase, the 2018 Awards were a truly countywide celebration of business excellence. Hundreds of applicants entered or were nominated, and the 46 finalists were drawn from 18 towns across Surrey. The judging panel, chaired by Louise Punter, CEO of Surrey Chambers of Commerce, included representatives from Heathrow Airport, NatWest, Kingston Smith, Sandown Mercedes-Benz, Morrisons, Partridge Muir & Warren, Surrey Chambers Magazine, projectfive, Surrey Business School, Surrey Chambers of Commerce, CountyClean Group, Challengers and Gemini Print.

Commentating on the celebrations, Louise said: “It goes without saying that it was a huge honour to be the Chair of the inaugural Surrey Business Awards. There was a broad spectrum of sectors represented, as well as organisations of very different sizes, reflecting the diversity of our county’s business and the vitality of our economy. “The exceptional quality of the entries really shined through, and many worthy winners were chosen”.

Explore Learning was launched in 2001 by Chief Executive, Bill Mills, who is still very-much hands on. The company provides English and maths tuition to children aged four to 14, working closely with local communities, schools and libraries. The aim is to encourage children to become ‘Fearless Learners’, reaching their full potential.

Explore Learning is currently growing at a rate of 20% year on year and in 2014 opened its first international centre in America, under the name ‘Explore Horizons.’ The business now has six US centres in Dallas. They are rated ‘Excellent’ on Trustpilot – testament to their fantastic customer service.

Laura Gordon, Head of Marketing who accepted the award on Explore Learning’s behalf said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised for our excellent customer service. This is integral to the success of our business and it’s all down to the hard work of our tutors, Centre Directors and head office staff who strive to be as supportive as possible to parenting, teachers and children alike. It was a very competitive category and we are so pleased to be winners.”

The Surrey Business Award was the icing on the cake for Explore Learning who have had an award -winning year with success in the Sunday Times Best Companies Awards and The Job Crowd Awards.
