Hays employees raise over £3,000 for Action for Children in charity football cup

Hays employees from four offices in Merseyside and Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire and Cumbria and Yorkshire recently competed in the Hays Charity Cup, a special charity football game to raise money for Action for Children, Hays charity partner.

Held at Manchester City Football Academy, employees travelled from across their regions to play several intense and competitive games of football. After some impressive performances from all players, including man of the match Tom Powell, Senior Recruitment Consultant in Warrington, the Merseyside and Cheshire team won the event, despite an amazing effort from runners up Lancashire and Cumbria.

The team have beaten their fundraising target of £3,000 for Action for Children, and are continuing to drive donations of over £3,200 for this important cause. James Sykes, Director at Hays in Manchester, who organised the match, commented: “Well done and thank you to the 50 players and volunteers who went along and represented their office/region in the Hays Charity Cup, to those who made the effort to come along and cheer on their colleagues and everyone who has donated to help raise over £3,000 for Action for Children.”

Staff from Hays offices across the country are undertaking a number of fundraising activities during our two year partnership.

With the generous support of Hays, Action for Children will be able to deliver a new employability programme which will support even more young people to secure and maintain employment and training opportunities, helping to break the cycle of deprivation and giving them the opportunity to reach their potential.
