Harrogate Water sets its sights on Japanese market
Japan could be the next ‘important’ new market for Harrogate Water, according to the company’s sales and marketing director Rob Pickering.
Following a visit today (October 18) hosted by Harrogate Water and visited by Japan’s ambassador to the UK, Mr Koji Tsuruoka, the company confirmed it is in talks with Japanese distributors.
The ambassador met Pickering, along with export and new business development manager, Greg Hatton.
He said: “We already export to a number of countries in the Far East, including China, Vietnam, Singapore and South Korea.
“Securing distribution in Japan is something we are actively seeking.
“The ambassador agreed the Japanese market represented a great opportunity for the brand. We hope to begin exporting some time during 2019.”
Harrogate Water has already secured several contracts in the past few months alone, including a five-year deal with Ascot, and a new partnership with US giant 20th Century Fox.
