Hale becomes "wellness hub"

A parade of shops in the popular Cheshire village of Hale is thriving since it became a hub for independent businesses.

Two new wellness businesses have made their home at The Old Barn, complex at 30 Park Road, offering physiotherapy and fitness classes.

Altius Health Care Ltd, a physiotherapy and rehabilitation centre, has now moved into the self-contained building comprising 1,511 sq ft. A two year lease has been taken by way of assignment from Marber Promotions and Marketing Ltd at a passing rent of £17,500 per annum.

Doug Jones, director, Altius Health Care, said: “My vision for this parade is to further enhance the wellness hub for the local residents of Hale and Altrincham. We are excited to be in our new premises delivering an elite standard of care to our customers.”

The Old Barn also welcomes new fitness studio ‘Barrecore’ which has taken the 650 sq ft first floor accommodation at on a five year lease at a rent of £9,000 per annum.

The Barrecore regime is a full-body interval training programme with elements of dance, pilates and yoga. It was inspired by barre exercises that give ballerinas their strong, toned physiques.

Sarah Emblow of Barrecore, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our studios to Hale. We have been overwhelmed with how quickly the studio in Alderley Edge filled up and so opening Hale was the ideal next step.

“The collection of businessess on Park Road made perfect sense to us as a location. It is a real hub of wellness businesses and gives the residents of Hale the boutique fitness scene that can be found in London and New York, without having to set foot outside the village”.

Regional Property Solutions acted on behalf of the assignor and the private pension landlord in the lettings.

Daniel Lee, director, Regional Property Solutions, said: “This cluster of small independent businesses, including a butcher, Grace Beauty salon and fashion retailer Basil and Bea, has certainly grown in popularity over the last few years with any available units being quickly snapped up.”
