Wilderness challenge firm targets £350k crowdfund for new European adventures

Adventure challenge business IGO Adventures is embarking on a six-figure crowdfunding campaign.

The Chelsea-based company will look to raise £350k from investors on equity platform Seedrs to launch weekend events around the UK and Europe.

Winners of the new challenges will each secure a spot in the firm’s week-long Ultimate IGO Challenge, taking place next September in Montana, US.

London investment firm NM Capital, which recently acquired bootcamp business British Military Fitness with adventurer Bear Grylls, is leading the Seedrs round.

IGO Adventures was established to inspire people to push their limits in wilderness settings all over the world. In two years, the company has taken just under 200 people away on weekend and week-long challenges across three continents.

Bobby Melville, founder and chief exec of IGO Adventures, said: “We are really excited to be offering shares in the company to our community and further afield.

“For IGO, people are everything. The connections we make with one another out in the wild, away from screens and desks, can last a lifetime.”

He continued: “Our growing series of challenge weekend events across Europe are the perfect way to experience each location and make countless friends, achieve personal goals as well as experiencing new destinations in the process.”

Speaking further, Bobby said his aim is to invest more in IGO’s “own personal development and in experiences as the market evolves”, adding: “We can’t wait to expand the IGO Adventures series whilst highlighting the beauty of our natural wilderness so that everyone who comes on an IGO will become custodians of the planet”.

IGO is supported by Will Dean, founder of endurance event Tough Mudder, and explorer Ranulph Fiennes.

Will Dean commented: “Bobby and his team have created a purpose-driven company dedicated to bringing people together and reconnecting them with their spirit of fun, adventure and exploration. I believe the future looks bright for IGO.”

Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE said: “It is great to see IGO encouraging people to explore the globe and challenge their mental and physical capabilities. I am very excited about what Bobby and his team are creating at IGO.”
