Record year for Bradford’s Broadway shopping complex as footfall leaps by 1.5 million
Bradford’s Broadway shopping complex is celebrating a record year of visitors and new openings.
Over 1.5 million more people used the centre in its last trading year than during the 12 months previous.
The Broadway has welcomed a raft of new shops and leisure operators in 2018, including footwear outlet Footlocker, women’s fashion retailer Apricot and independent cinema chain The Light.
Ian Ward, general manager of The Broadway, said: “2018 has been a fantastic year for The Broadway but also for Bradford in general.
“Across the city, we’re seeing this positive trend with the Science Media Museum annual visitor numbers up by 25% and major city events such as the Literary Festival now attracting over 70,000 people”.
Launches planned at The Broadway in the coming months include openings from Specsavers, Superdrug, Trespass and Frankie’s Burgers.
Pete Rooke, from Specsavers, commented: “As a team we are excited to become part of the Broadway, and see this as a great move for our store.
“We’re looking forward to getting involved with what we consider one of the best shopping and leisure complexes in the region.”
The Broadway opened its doors in 2015.
