Brighouse card payment solutions firm bags contract with construction giant
A local card payment solutions company has secured a multi-year deal to provide cashless payment facilities to Marshall Holdings Limited.
Yorkshire Payments, based in Brighouse, has agreed a contract with national commercial developer and construction giant, Marshall that will see the introduction of card and telephone payment systems at its Calder Valley Storage site at Luddenden Foot, Halifax.
The deal is part of a drive by Marshall Holdings Ltd to eliminate cash transactions from the Halifax site, as part of a move that may eventually see it become cashless across its entire group of companies.
Karen Donnelly, financial controller at Marshall Holdings Limited, said: “As part of a strategic move to make transactions more secure for both the customer and ourselves, all new contracts at our Luddenden Foot site now state the company no longer accepts cash as means of payment.
“As a business, we are responding to the move towards an increasingly cashless society, while streamlining our own payment procedures at the same time and trialling a solution which may eventually see us become cashless across the entire business.”
Founded in 2013 by Mr Howard, the company provides payment solutions to Yorkshire-based brands. These include global online travel company, icelolly.com; baked goods supplier Lottie Shaw’s; and Snickers Workwear.
It processed more than £470m through its payments systems between March 2017 and March 2018.
James Howard, managing director at Yorkshire Payments, added: “Marshalls’ move to cashless is reflective of the growing number of businesses choosing to eliminate cash altogether in a bid to streamline transactions, save time and even create safer working environments by not holding large quantities of money on the premises.”
