Paul Lofthouse, Commercial Director at Waymark, said: “It’s great to welcome Matt to the Waymark team - we see Yorkshire and Humberside as an area of huge potential for our products and services. It’s an area Matt knows and understands well and he will work with our growing sales and marketing teams to promote and progress the business.
“We already have several valued clients in Yorkshire and Matt shares our vision of ambitious growth in the area. We take great pride in helping businesses of all sizes work smarter, create efficiencies and save money through our state-of-the-art products and first-class services.”
Matt’s appointment is the company’s eighth appointment this year and part of a sustained growth strategy that aims to put Waymark in the region’s top three software houses within four years.
Matt studied a psychology degree at the University of Bradford before travelling around the world for two and a half years. On his return he started a career that has seen him work in sales, recruitment and business development. His last role was Head of Client Relationships at a Sheffield power plant equipment supplier.
He said: “I’m excited to be joining such an ambitious company and the team has been so welcoming and friendly. I’ve been very impressed by Waymark’s core products and how knowledgeable and flexible our software developers are. I’m confident that prospective clients in Yorkshire and Humberside will be impressed too. I’m looking forward to building brand awareness of Waymark across the area and making sure prospective clients know what we’re about – saving companies money and improving performance and efficiencies through first-class software solutions and services.
“There are no limits to the size or shape of company that we can help and we don’t just offer ‘out of the box’ solutions, but full, bespoke solutions for clients who we take time to get to know and understand.”
Married with four children, Matt is a keen runner and also manages an Under-14 girls’ Rugby League team in Leeds.
Matt is Waymark’s eighth recruit since January, and a new Business Development Manager for Scotland is in the process of being recruited.
The new recruits have helped form new sales, business development and marketing teams at the company.
One of Waymark’s core products is Wayforce, an intelligent, cloud-based, real-time field service management system that is already being used by an international logistics company. Another Waymark product attracting wide attention is StoresMate, a solution designed to save costs and increase efficiencies around tool management on construction projects. StoresMate is being developed in a joint venture with Teesside IT company Project Control Tools.
Waymark has offices in Gateshead and Sunderland and was set up seven years ago, developing software for utility services. It has since expanded into the education, health, logistics and commercial sectors, working with more than 30 clients. Last year the company won the Creative Industries Award at the prestigious Northern Lights Awards.
