Hollybank Trust Launches New Disabled Bus with Support From Treka and Ring Carnation

Ring Carnation, the Leeds-based supplier of specialist control, power and lighting products for vehicle converters, has donated a state-of-the-art genisys™ system, the industry-leading switching and power management system for specialist vehicles, to Hollybank Trust.

Joining long-standing client Treka, the team donated time and resource to Hollybank Trust to support the launch of a brand-new mobility bus. The bespoke genisys™ system, providing state of the art safety features, was installed in the custom-built bus.

Mirfield-based Hollybank Trust provides care, support and education to over 120 babies, children and adults with multiple and profound difficulties at its special school and nursery, residential homes and daytime activity programmes.

The brand-new bus will allow the organisation to deliver additional care to those living across the South and West Yorkshire communities. It will also allow staff to take residents and services users on day trips and to routine appointments and interact more with the local community.

Richard Yates, Divisional Director for Ring Carnation, comments: “After receiving a call from Treka asking us to support the Hollybank Trust we jumped at the chance to get involved. We’ve worked with the charity on numerous occasions and were more than happy to donate our products to a truly worthy cause.

“The service they deliver is invaluable for those that rely on the organisation. The genisys™ system we have donated is a token of our appreciation for the work they do and will allow them to continue for many years to come.”

Harry Clouth, Senior Fundraiser, comments: “Everybody at Hollybank Trust would like to thank Ring Carnation for the generous donation and for the work they have done for us in the past. It is really important that we get out into the local community and that we have the facilities required to support our service users. This new bus will make all of the difference. We can’t wait to get on the road to show it off!”

Designed initially for the emergency services industry, a genisys™ system ensures that power is available for critical vehicle functions by managing power distribution throughout the vehicle.
