HTA Real Estate enters fifth year in business with Tees Valley deal hat-trick

Industrial property agency HTA Real Estate is marking its fifth anniversary with a hat-trick of deals in the Tees Valley.

The Newcastle-based company, founded in 2013 by business partners Nick Atkinson, Simon Hill and Russell Taylor, concluded the transactions in Middlesbrough, Redcar and Darlington.

In Redcar, the firm sold a 4.5-acre development plot on Limerick Road for site owner Air Products. Located at the entrance to Dormanstown Industrial Estate, the land was acquired by used plant machinery firm Sigma Plant for a six figures.

HTA Real Estate also acquired an industrial investment at Mickleton Road, Middlesbrough for its client Boru Estates, which retained HTA as joint letting agent alongside Connect Property. Both firms will now market the vacant 9,354 sq ft unit.

In Darlington, the company brokered a new lease on premises at Lingfield Way with international chemicals company Molekula Ltd, which used the site to consolidate its operations from Newcastle and Nottingham.

Molekula has also tasked HTA with finding a tenant or buyer for its former premises on Balliol Business Park in Benton.

Nick Atkinson, director and co-founder at HTA Real Estate, said: “The Tees Valley is an increasingly attractive location for expanding businesses operating in the manufacturing and warehouse sectors.

“Molekula’s acquisition in Darlington is a prime example of a growing international business identifying the Tees Valley as the right location to make a major investment, largely due to the close proximity to the A1(M), local ports and a strong pool of skilled labour.”

HTA is now working with joint agent Cushman & Wakefield on Stockton’s Dynamo Park development, which will deliver new industrial and distribution premises ranging from 35,000 to 482,000 sq ft

HTA’s Russell Taylor commented: “Over the past five years we have completed a significant number of property disposals and acquisitions in the Tees Valley and given the healthy levels of demand, we firmly expect this to continue.

“Dynamo Park will bring much needed new industrial stock to the Tees Valley and we are very pleased to have had a number of positive discussions with prospective occupiers who are interested in committing to new buildings.”
