County Durham Sport goes from desk top to the cloud in 48 hours!

With the help of UHY Torgersens, County Durham Sport has made the move from desktop accounting to a cloud-based system in just two days.

Having acted for County Durham Sport since early 2016, UHY Torgersens was contacted by the company for advice about cost-effective online financial management options. A meeting was held with the team to demonstrate Sage Business Cloud software, a package that could provide them with a significantly more streamlined and accurate way of inputting and accessing financial data. The decision was made to transfer to this new cloud accounting package as soon as possible.

The company’s accounts were moved across to the new online system the next day. Because the team were already operating Sage 50 desktop software, Sage Business Cloud Migration Tool was used to transfer all business and financial information and established default settings, along with customer, supplier and bank information. All of this was accomplished by 5pm with all users briefed on the main features of the new system. Beth Donkin, Business Support Manager for County Durham Sport, said, ‘Our transition to Sage Business Cloud was seamless and quicker than we could ever have expected. The system is user-friendly, logical and efficient.’

Donna Parkin, UHY Torgersens’ cloud accounting manager commented, ‘It was great working with the County Durham Sport team – they were open-minded and proactive which really helped things to go smoothly.’

County Durham Sport is an independent company with charitable status, working closely with national, regional and local organisations to ensure that sport and physical activities for young people and adults are developed in a co-ordinated way across the county.
